Dear Parents/Carers

The end of another term and the summer holidays are ahead of us. Let’s hope we get some good weather.

We have a lovely group of children within the club who continue to make new friends, socialise with existing friends and develop their creative and social skills.

We continue to maintain a good number of registered children at the club with new children due to join in September.

We still have a good set of resources within the club for children to use. The children are reminded about looking after the equipment and playing appropriately with it. Hopefully this will help our equipment last longer!

We have also purchased a shed for all our outdoor toys which should make things more convenient as well as freeing up some space in our storage area.

Earlier in the term, we held a sponsored bounce whereby we helped raise money for a very deserving charity. The charity called ‘Happy Days Charity’ helps provide holidays and day trips to disabled children, seriously ill children and child carers and much more. We managed to raise £75.00 and Happy Days Kids Club topped up the sponsorship money to £100. Quite a few children who took part in the sponsored bounce did not return their sponsorship forms, so we could have probably raised a lot more money; maybe next year.

Well done to all those children who took part.

CLUB INFORMATION

We have some staff changes taking place in September. Firstly, we sadly say goodbye to Rachael and Rebecca at the end of the summer term. Rachael will be visiting us still and completing some art activities with the children hopefully on a regular basis. Rebecca will be leaving us to develop her skills by way of further training.

They will be sadly missed and I am sure you will join me in thanking them for their hard work and wish them good luck for the future.

Also in September I will be stepping back as a day-to-day Manager of the club, but will still be visiting once a week and be contactable by Parents/Carers as and when necessary.

Allie will not have completed her necessary qualification in time to take over as Manager but will still be working her way through her course. Consequently, I have employed a new Manager who will be commencing at the beginning of October ’08. Many of you know her already – Mrs Clare Primrose, who is also Deputy Leader of the Pre-school at Rowans. I am still looking for an appropriate person to join our team as a Childcare Assistant.

So good luck to those leaving, still studying and joining the club!

Also for your information, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage which is being introduced from September ’08, we will have in place a key worker allocation system. This will be required for children aged up to and including 5. Parents/Carers will be notified of the Key Worker for their child in September.

GENERAL INFORMATION

DETAIL CHANGES – Please let us know if there are any changes in your contact information and emergency contact information. We need to know also if there is any further information we need to know regarding your child/children.

INVOICES – Can you please ensure invoices are paid within 7 days of the invoice date. I would like to remind you also, that there is a late payment of invoice fee of £10. Your co-operation with this will be greatly appreciated.

SUGGESTIONS – If you have any suggestions or comments regarding the club, please let Haley know or ask for a form so that you can fill it in. Any suggestions or comments are welcomed.

CANCELLATIONS – May I also remind you that we have a Cancellation Policy.

NOTICE BOARD – Please refer to the Parents/Carers notice board situated near the signing out area to check for relevant information including term dates.

Finally, thanks to all the Parents/Carers who have supported the club. We strive to provide a flexible, friendly service, but would ask that Parents/Carers note club policies which help things run smoothly and fairly.
